Manne started producing guitars with CNC in the ’90’s with the Bolty model. At that time we had a steel fabrication shop in our area making pre-worked parts for us.
This year I decided I was ready to take advantage of the fact that these machines have now become financially accessible to small custom shops, and the design and set-up processes are now much faster and easier. This is a dream for the woodworker, as routing is done with accurate tolerances, so the joints, the alignment of each routing, and all parts are just perfect. But in my view, this only substitutes the previous work we did with handheld routers, leaving the final shaping and fitting to the skilled hand of the master woodworker. So we have eased and controlled better the initial shaping of wooden parts, but without changing the ultimate feel we wish for our guitars.
