Mariano passed away Monday 21 March.
Here at Manne, we usually consolidate our relation with customers.
Some of them become really good friends. Mariano was one of them.
Born in Argentina, living in Genoa and working in Milan, in 2004 he ordered from us something we had not even thought about: an 8-string built to his playing needs.
We built for him other two eight strings, refining and experimenting for tone and new techniques.
So it happened that Mariano was really involved and fascinated by the world of instrument building and our friendship grew with time.
We had very good times together as his pointed and brilliant mind was always ready for challenges without taking easy and granted references. And being so human and so “South-Americanish” his humor was like a cutting knife or paradoxically correct, describing epical stories just as Latin American writers do.
With Mariano we were always in good company, here in Schio or at the Eurobass day in Verona, and also at the Sarzana acoustic festival. I will miss him, but I think a good friendship will be never be over and will never be forgotten.
