Hallo players....

January Southern California weather, coming to USA from an Italian winter, is too good: T-shirts and shades is all you need...

But this time at my arrival things were not exactly like that. Heavy rains, thunderstorms, floods and mudslides testify that these dry places so used to sun are also a delicate environment subject to natural forces. So it happened that at La Cochita's mudslide, I had two of my best American close friends: Cherie and Nadine, owners of Folkmote , a local landmark music store in Santa Barbara, and a resource for local, touring and nationally known folk musicans. Cherie and Nadine were rescued fom under their destroyed and mudcovered house. They are now courageously recovering from their injuries and the loss of their home and all their personal belongings. They are now discovering how much they are in the hearts of their friends and customers. Anyone can send help, donation, support thru their website.NAMM '05: Surely this was one of our most successful experiences. There is an upcoming big project, new international distributions, new world renowed artist to work with, new instruments models to develop... I will keep you updated. But over all.... SOULMOVER!

GLENN HUGHES: At Namm'05 we officially introduced the SOULMOVER signature model, which we developed for the legendary Glenn Hughes. Saturday January 22 Glenn arrived at our booth, awaited by many fans and journalists.  Glenn's appearance included meeting fans, taking pictures, signing autographs and chatting with his many loyal admirers.
His new Soulmover CD, just released in Europe and coming out in late February in the USA will hit the target: his powerful voice and vibrant bass lines anchor mature interpretations full of passion and soul, tracks with 60's sounds mixed with modern production.
The soulmover video features Glenn in good company: Dave Navarro on guitar (will we be able to ask him play a manne too..?) and Chad Smith (red hot chili peppers) on drums. In the Glenn Hughes Fan Club site you can hear partial clips of all the tracks.
Glenn confirmed that he is fully satisfied by the basses and he told us how many compliments he has received about the aestehtics and the tone, both vintage and modern at the same time, of the Soulmover bass.
The following months, will be fully scheduled for Glenn. The tour will start from UK beginning in February, covering europe until April. The Soulmover CD will be relased February 22 in USA on Sanctuary. Here is Glenn's comment on the recording:
"Chad and I wanted an organic feel as it was necessary to capture the emotion that can only happen when all of us are playing live in the same room together. We were in a semi-circle with the amps bleeding a little into the drums just as I used to record when I first started playing."

ARTISTS: We first met the texan bluesman Danny Click in Ferrara, Italy, while he was touring europe. We met with pleasure again at Namm, where he stopped in our booth and played our new Ventura model. We are now defining the features for a new "Blues Deluxe Ventura" with Seymour Duncan P90's, a TonePros stoptail bridge, set-in neck and custom circuitry and other features to suit Danny's requirements.
Danny has a busy touring schedule worldwide and he is happy and enthusiastic about the possibility of working with Manne. Who said that all Texas bluesmen should play the same guitar? Is it the start of a technical-aesthetic revolution of the blues icon?... we'll see... meantime we are ready to create an instrument that Danny will carry around the globe, which will demonstrate that the blues guitar icons can have some innovative variations. Anyway what we really care and wish about it is that our instruments will help squeeze out all the blues possible from Danny!
At NAMM we also met our friends Alex Masi, Libby Lavella, Tak Tanaka and other great, great musicians we hope will shortly come into the Manne family. We are now also working on an instrument for the progressive fusion master David FUZE Fiuczynski ... we will keep you updated.
BROOMSTICK Bass: Sven Bornemark is the swedish developer of this program created to supply realistic bass sounds and lines for digital productions with VST standard (details).
Sven fell in love of our Acoustibass and when he was called on to develop this project he got a 4-string and included it in among the palette of sounds offered by the program. On the packaging our Acoustibass is visible (second from left) toghether with historic and mythical instruments considered milestones of "bass sounds". This award was totally unexpected. We were happily surprised, so we wrote to Sven:
"I saw the product package ... There is the Acoustibass in between all those legendary basses!"
"Yep, right where it should be! :)"
"I want to thank you once again. You gave me a great honor and satisfaction."
"Hey - you produce wonderful instruments that's one level higher!"

That's all... folks!
