Too bad.....
I am trying to keep up with the websites (Italian and English) but there is too much to do here... and too much happenings to write about!!

PPC Music Hannover started our distribution in Germany and there is a whole project involved with that. I will keep you posted on it (well ... I will try!). The first appointment is right now:
Francoforte Musik Messe a fine Marzo - Halle 4.2 Gang F Stand 21.

Mannedesign: We are developing a whole new line of instruments that we will introduce during the year. New models and mid-priced Manne features for a totally new market segment. We are working on it……

New Guitar and Bass PICK-UPS: We introduced these new pickups during the January NAMM show in L.A.

Their main feature is that they are wound by hand directly on the blade instead of on bobbins.
This gives the pickup extraordinary sensitivity to playing nuances. The tone is more "musical"...
Alex Masi said: "The new guitar you sent me is unreal...the neck, frets, action make you feel like nothing is impossible to play. The wood is downright sexy and the pickups make this baby sing like a bird...I've already done some sessions with "the new kid" and it's becoming THE first guitar of choice...fucking brilliant!"...
But also all the comments we have received are seriously positive. There is no fun describing the pickups and letting you know their technical and construction features, because the fun for you will come from their tone! So you just have to check them out!

The new passive pickups for basses are available in 4-, 5- or 6-string models. They are dual coil humbuckers with a very balanced and neutral response, with good definition and good balance between "body" and top and bottom frequency range responses. We are using them for our new Moab bass.

New Models :
MOAB Bass: It is similar to the Trea model but it sports 2 new specially designed humbuckers, available in 4-, 5- or 6-string models. We adopted a new active circuit made for us by Glockenklang, creators of the best sounding Bass amps in the market today. The Moab neck is a bolt-on in ash and laminate, with a Korina body and you can choose the fully carved top among Italian Yew, Walnut or Poplar.
NATURAL Finish: This finish was originally developed on a prototype, then perfected, and we are now offering this new hand rubbed finish on our high-end the basses (Newport Special, Trea and Moab).
The NATURAL finish is also now offered on the guitars in the new "NATURAL" series. In a guitar's world dominated by shiny hi-gloss flamed tops, we are offering this new smooth finish, warm and sexy to the touch, with natural unstained body. The top choices for the guitars include Flamed Cherry and uncommon looking Italian Yew, as well as our standard figured poplar and walnut. The finish can be defined as "reserved", someone said it looks "organic", but this finish was a clear winner at the last NAMM show, especially combined with a well matched figured wood top:
TAOS NATURAL: Italian Yew top or Walnut top.
VENTURA NATURAL: Flame Cherry top.
We have now decided to offer our guitars in a “Metal” verison under the name "Nightaxe".
TAOS and VENTURA NIGHTAXE: Antraburst satin finish or Black satin finish. Pickup configuration HH, with a Floyd tremolo (F) or stop-tail tune-o-matic (LP) bridges.

NAMM '07: NAMM '07:
This year we shared the booth synergistically with two other italian companies, Techra and International business Centre. The booth received visits from several rock stars such as Pat Travers, Steve Lukather, Bruce Kulik, together with our friends Alex Masi, Fabrizio Grossi, Troy and Jasun Tipton of Zero Hour and Brian Wright of The Trip Device.
Tommy Denander, an incredibly versatile session guitarist from Sweden, was also at the booth and is now our newest endorser.
Glenn Hughes signed autographs at a booth crowded with his fans. We had a nice dinner with Glenn, where else?.......at an Italian restaurant!!
Another unexpected guest at the booth was Dominique Di Piazza, the incredible world renowned bassist who played with Weather Report in the 1970’s. Dominique very much enjoyed playing our basses, especially the Newport Special.
It was nice to meet Udo, owner of Glockenklang. Udo supplied a demo amp for the booth and we found that during the entire show we always used his Amp in the flat position, using just the Gain and Volume knobs. When we reported this to him, smiling, he commented: "this happens when the amp sounds good and the bass sounds good!".....Thanks Udo! This also fits with our basic philosophy: real bass tone is a natural, passive sound. We can achieve this tone using our passive basses together with Glockenklang equipment.
Thanks again to Iain Wilson and the Bordignon brothers of Techra, Richard Davidow our US Distributor, and reps Sean Kruithoff, Gary Riso and Louis Laurenti for all their help in making the NAMM experience happen.

Elio e le storie tese's FASO bass player.
Can you name a band that played with James Taylor (the "sweet baby" one) and that had him singing a song they wrote of nonsense english "first me, second me"? Well don't guess if you are not Italian. Elio & le storie tese is the most popular band in Italy with a "Zappa-like" humor and musical knowledge and a JT duet to their credit. Nothing is impossible for them. Artistically and musically they can go from a side role in a porno movie to singing an opera. They retain the song-duration record of 12 hours, and at the end of each of their shows you can buy the recorded, mastered and marketed live in real time……so they are releasing a new CD each show! Since 2004 they refused to deal with record company executives, so they found their own way to sell their music.
So we welcome Faso with his own model into the Manne family!

Instructional DVD for
Jasun and Troy Tipton:
Progressive Shredoholic: These are the techniques and ideas that have given Jasun his sound and now you can take these ideas and make them your own. You'll explore exotic formats; sweeping techniques; modal, exotic, & wide interval string skipping ideas; two and three note per string wide-stretch segments; groupings of fives; progressive riffing ideas that add chromatics; exotics and arpeggios; ZERO HOUR solo sequences; and much more.
Progressive Bass techniques for bass: Speed plucking, finger tapping, exotic segments and MONSTER ARPEGGIOS is what this instructional is all about. Troy follows up by showing you how he applies these techniques to Major keys. The end result is five explosive examples that will have your fingers sprinting a mile a minute. WARNING: No Picks Allowed.

Alex Masi - Late Night At Desert Rimrock: comments about the CD from Alloutguitar.com: "Alex delivers even further into the experimental free form world of rock jazz fusion he first engaged in a serious way on 2004’s MCM (Masi, Coven, Macaluso). This new work was initiated by laying down drum and bass grooves (once again with Macaluso on skins, but Alex handles all other instruments on this release) and then by adding a spontaneous display of virtuoso soloing born from a place Alex describes thusly: “Every piece is a universe in itself…the influence is the desert…my love of the desert…my love of solitude..my trips around various deserts and the imaginary and actual encounters there….altered mental states…”. This may indeed leave fans of Alex’ recent neo-classical output somewhat puzzled but believe me, there is no shortage of superb guitar work on this release."

GUITAR WORLD: "What is made in Italy, built for speed and features a stunning red paint job?". This is how a new review of a Ventura starts in Guitar World Magazine. "New, Hip and under the radar", "Manne guitars satisfy the need for speed", "for players that appreciate sleek Italian design".

Thanks, thanks ... too much!! Enjoy and have fun!!!

Arrivederci!
