Giovanni the Bass Player

I am the happy owner of a Manne Acoustibass and a Manne Moab.

The Moab has always delivered a round, smooth, dark and defined sound with a slight roll-off on the highest frequencies. I like it very much.

But for a while, I have needed a bit more punch and an “aggressive” sound. Even if the three-band equalizer helps to boost the sound, it was not exactly what I had in mind.

I was thinking about another model or another brand but I decided to ask Mr. Manne for his opinion.

So I talked with him, explaining all in detail and what I wish to get. I was already thinking, with some apprehension, what super ultimate bass, brand new model I should take home, and how many rates of mortgage would I had to live with… being happy but sad at the same time.

Andrea suggested to me that we change the bridge soapbar pickup to a Manne humbucker with large open polepieces. It was not exactly what I expect, but I trust him, so ….

So: I still have the same bass I was loving for the playing ease and many features, but with a brand new bridge pickup sound that is exactly what I was missing!. And the mix of the pickups now offers more to deal with. And the solution was cheap!

Dear Mr. Manne: Maybe you are not a so good seller, but you are a excellent artisan of sounds, and even this time, you were able to understand and realize my idea and create a solution at an affordable price…
