Ciao Andrea! How is it going? I write you from NYC. I’m here since a couple of weeks and for a few more days. I did a beautiful live set with Vardan Ovsepian, Tim Miller and Mark Walker.
Vardan is in the Peter Erskine trio, Mark is the Oregon drummer and Tim is an incredible guitar player who is not yet well known.
I’ve been in a studio in Boston for an Armenian traditional music project and then to Mythical Bennett Studios in NJ for an all star band including Francisco Pais, Myron Walden, Leo Genovese and Justin Brown.
I am not in a self celebrative phase… but just to let you know that I used the seven-string Manne “Woody” Acoustibass in so many situations, so different from one to the other. It was in someone else’s ears, as I recorded and played in top-class live sets. It is killer! All three Woody’s you built are special, but this 7-string is really sky high.
The 33” scale and extended range… it is a creature on his own, living his own life and giving immense motivation. I can’t wait until I have something to let you hear.
I play the sound, so I play consequently to the instrument.
